The Peninsula metal console by Cattelan Italia defies the conventions of traditional furniture, straddling the line between metal craftsmanship and avant-garde sculpture. The design centers on a set of three modules of varying sizes, conceived to be placed side-by-side, inverted, or multiplied into an infinite array of wall-mounted compositions—arranged at uniform heights or staggered. Whether serving as a compact surface for an entryway or as an imposing, dramatic installation along a hallway, the piece consistently maintains its core formal innovation: its extension perpendicular to the wall.

Breaking away from the linearity of a classic horizontal shelf, Peninsula reaches out toward the center of the room, turning its supporting leg into the visual focal point of the furniture. The metal silhouette is thus revealed head-on, enhanced by the exclusive "Oxybrass" brushed finish—a sophisticated, oxidized-brass-effect coating applied entirely freehand. Subtle, artisanal scratches evoke the aesthetic language of industrial archaeology, celebrating an elegance that is both rigorous and exquisitely contemporary.
