Designer: Studio 28

A design of exacting balance that redefines the archetype of rest through a monolithic, monumental silhouette. The Simon bed by Cattelan Italia embodies extraordinary formal continuity, dissolving the traditional visual divide between the headboard and the bed frame to create a single, sculptural form. This floor-standing model is distinguished by a low, imposing base that rests directly on the ground; by eliminating visible legs, it achieves an architectural presence that is both grounded and essential—designed to command the center of a contemporary master bedroom.

The design’s dynamic focal point lies in the treatment of the lower profiles, where the edges of the bed frame gently flare outward, widening the footprint. This perimeter flare creates a sophisticated optical effect, transforming the bed’s body into a monumental raised platform—a veritable upholstered stage designed to frame the mattress area. Complementing this structural curve is the expansive upholstered headboard, which extends laterally beyond the bed frame’s edges and folds gently back on itself, mimicking the movement of a fluid wave. The combination of premium upholstery materials and soft, sculpted volumes transforms the structure into an oasis of visual serenity, capable of furnishing the sleeping area with expressive rigor and timeless elegance.
