A gravity-defying piece of micro-architecture, the Nelson bed by Cattelan Italia—designed by Andrea Lucatello—transposes the visual lightness of vintage sailing vessels into the bedroom. It redefines the master suite’s spatial volumes with a sleek profile evoking a sailboat with sails unfurled in the wind. The design’s focal point is its majestic curved-wood supporting structure—available in Canaletto walnut or burnt oak—which features tapered lines that lift and suspend the mattress area, creating an unexpected sense of airy spaciousness.

This dynamic wooden exoskeleton supports an imposing, oversized upholstered headboard, conceived as a soft shield offering superior ergonomic comfort. The upholstery is fully customizable, drawing from an extensive range of materials that spans cutting-edge technical fabrics to a rich palette of soft leathers and tailored eco-leathers. The refined contrast between the organic warmth of visible natural grain and the generous, padded forms transforms rest into a sculptural experience; here, nautical elegance merges with exceptional engineering precision, enhancing the room with a contemporary aesthetic that remains timeless.
