Kayak of Cattelan Italia is a sideboard featuring an eclectic, rigorous, and highly sculptural design; conceived by Andrea Lucatello, it brings undeniable elegance to prestigious residential interiors and complements refined contract design projects, such as luxury designer restaurants. Whether enhancing a dramatic dining area or redefining the spatial dynamics of a sophisticated living room, this modern sideboard with a multifaceted character showcases exquisite craftsmanship and exclusive surface finishes.
The innovative Brushed Bronze or Brushed Grey metallic finishes—meticulously applied and hand-brushed by skilled artisans—create a captivating, kaleidoscopic play of light across the faceted door surfaces, standing alongside the classic glossy lacquered wood versions (black, white, mocha, or red) and the matte graphite option. The unit’s faceted form appears to float in space thanks to discreet yet sturdy steel feet—available in polished stainless steel or a matte lacquered finish—which can be configured in two different heights.
At the heart of the piece lie silky, thick, transparent tempered glass shelves, perfect for carefully displaying cherished items while maximizing storage capacity in the living area. Every configuration—available with two or three hinged doors and optional functional internal drawers—reflects the excellence and superior quality of the materials used in its creation, establishing this piece as a true avant-garde work of art designed to stand the test of time.
