Designer: Studio Kronos

Developed by the design firm Studio Kronos for Cattelan Italia, the Regata lighting system reinterprets the concepts of fluidity and stillness through a sculptural, visually striking graphic form. The chandelier’s architecture is based on three linear steel stems—available in sophisticated satin iron grey or embossed titanium finishes—that intersect in mid-air with mathematical precision, evoking the structural balance of a ship’s mast. The opaque central core of each element contrasts with the ends, crafted from exquisite, fluted, transparent borosilicate glass, which house high-efficiency integrated LED sources that project precisely calibrated beams of light. The product engineering transforms the connection points into refined ornamental details, enhanced by a brushed brass finish that highlights the material distinction between metal and glass. Designed primarily to be suspended above prominent dining tables, the lamp achieves its full dramatic potential—whether used individually or as part of custom, multi-level compositions—to create a sophisticated, contemporary lighting arrangement.
