Designed by Oriano Favaretto for Cattelan Italia, the Coimbra lighting collection reinterprets ethereal geometries through a sophisticated dualism of materials, conceived as a prestigious element for high-end residential projects. The visual architecture of the chandelier is based on an outer sphere of transparent borosilicate glass—finely flattened at the center—which encloses and protects an inner, bell-shaped shade made of painted glass (available in refined bronze, dark gray, or light blue tones). This synergy between pure surfaces and reflective volumes creates an elegant interplay of layers, adorning the space with harmony and lightness, while maintaining a distinct, rigorous decorative presence even when the light source is switched off. Supported by a ceiling attachment in black chrome-finished steel, the pendant lamp reaches its full dramatic potential when arranged in asymmetrical compositions at varying heights—perfect for enhancing grand dining rooms—yet it integrates with complete discretion when installed individually above side tables or within intimate reading corners.
