A taut vertical line defying gravity, transforming the entryway or cloakroom into an avant-garde visual experience. Conceived by the design duo Toso and Quaggiotto, the Air coat rack of Cattelan Italia breaks radically away from conventional freestanding or wall-mounted solutions, introducing a concept of a modern, sculptural, floating furnishing—one capable of lending a distinctive touch of originality to the most sophisticated contemporary interiors.

The architecture of this iconic design piece unfolds along a slender yet robust steel cable anchored directly to the ceiling. Threaded onto this vertical axis are five independent, fully rotatable curved elements, engineered to serve as practical, versatile hooks. This mobility allows the supports to be positioned at will, creating a functional dynamism that shifts shape according to the garments they hold. A solid steel cylinder at the lower end ensures the system hangs perfectly plumb; this counterweight, with its clean geometric profile, guarantees structural stability while adding a refined material detail to the composition.

Its remarkable expressive flexibility and minimal footprint make this designer coat rack an exceptional, versatile choice for a wide range of living spaces—from the main entrance or bedroom to a high-end walk-in closet. Its striking visual impact also makes it ideal for sophisticated contract interior design projects, where the linearity of the taut metal offers guests a welcome with monumental allure—perfect for the foyer of a fine-dining restaurant or a haute couture atelier. The precise balance between cable tension and the calibrated oscillation of the hooks transforms an everyday action into an interior design ritual, defining the entryway with formal rigor and a level of imaginative elegance that is truly exceptional.
